《Reversed Incense Flow》 - Art Installation 《畫外月》(Moon beyond the paint)
Rolland Cheung, a Hong Kong-based Resin Art artist, majored in Architectural Interior Design. In 2017, he established Hong Kong's first Resin Art brand—agape design limited. He has collaborated with major organizations and brands such as the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Marriott, Swire, Hysan, New World Development, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and various property developers, applying Resin Art to interior spaces and large-scale artworks.
Rolland's creations integrate Western philosophy, Japanese aesthetics (Yūgen), and Chinese aesthetics (the concept of 'empty space' ). Using Resin Art as his primary medium, he expresses philosophical beauty, presenting the relationship between humans and nature, as well as humanity's intrinsic essence. His work aims to inspire public introspection and self-exploration.
This exhibition will not only showcase Hong Kong's largest resin artwork, but also see Hong Kong resin artist Rolland Cheung breaking through two-dimensional art creation by combining elements of resin art, light, motion sensors, sound, and mechanical installations to create an immersive multi-sensory experience that explores the relationship between humanity ("他") and nature ("然").

Limited Collector's Agarwood Gift Set
You've probably seen a Buddha head or the Chinese character "念" in any alleyway, but you might not know its name—Yuwan Ding, a local graffiti artist. Early in his Buddhist studies, he encountered the works of artists with Buddhist backgrounds and began leaving his mark on the streets. This time, he's collaborating with local incense brand Heung Yau to create incense sticks designed for relaxation in today's urbanites. In Sham Shui Po, one of Hong Kong's most crowded districts, he's seeking a tranquil and Zen-like ambiance amidst the bustle of the city.
Limited to 50 masterpieces: A timeless classicThis limited-edition set includes premium aged agarwood from Nha Trang, Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, and Huian agarwood from Hainan Island, China. These are incredibly rare and highly anticipated. The story begins with a "scent-hunting" trip earlier this year, where I visited a master agarwood gardener and was fortunately gifted with two of his treasures. The master explained that because both Phu Quoc and Nha Trang are coastal, Vietnam's tropical climate and moist soil enhance the sweetness of the agarwood trees, leaving a lingering sweetness, reminiscent of a tropical beauty. The fragrance of the Huian agarwood resembles a sea of flowers, its rich floral notes intertwined with delightful fruity and honeyed notes. Even after prolonged burning, it remains sweet and pleasant.

《Perfect Imperfection|Borderless Art Joint Exhibition》
The exhibited work, 《花落香林》(Flowers Falling in the Fragrant Forest), is made from incense made from plants grown locally in Hong Kong. The fragrance encourages the public to connect with the local ecology. Incense sticks will also be provided as souvenirs.
Mixed media with the theme of "Hong Kong Ecology"While the incense industry has indeed garnered increasing attention in recent years, a common theme often overlooked is Hong Kong's reputation as a "port of fragrance." This is due to its unique geographical location and natural resources, which are ideal for cultivating a diverse range of aromatic woods and spices. This allowed the cultivation of aromatic woods and the production of incense to become a key economic sector.
Today, Hong Kong's ecology, like its incense industry, remains an overlooked treasure. In this rare opportunity, let us explore Hong Kong's precious ecosystem aboard the Kwun Tong Harbour Discovery, using aroma as our guide and paintings as our map.
Exhibition InfoLocation: V GALLERY/Multi-Function Room DREAM, 90 Hoi Bun Road, Kwun Tong Dates: 31/7-29/8/2023
